Artisan Soul & Coastal Glow: a 2-Day Pottery, Glass, and Wetland Escape

Artisan & Coastal Glow · 2-Day Journey

From the Ceramics of Yingge to the
Sunsets of Hsinchu's Heart-Shaped Boardwalk

Experience the delicate beauty of Taiwan's master crafts and the raw elegance of its western coastline. Our "Artisan & Coastal Glow" tour is a 2-day journey designed for those who appreciate the finer details — whether it's the glaze on a porcelain vase, the transparency of hand-blown glass, or the rhythmic life of a coastal wetland.

Why This Tour is a Must-Do

Two Art Cities,
one quiet wetland.

This tour connects two of Taiwan's most famous "Art Cities" — Yingge (Pottery) and Hsinchu (Glass) — with the tranquil natural beauty of Daxi's orchards and the stunning Xiangshan Wetlands. It is a perfect blend of hands-on culture, seasonal flavors, and breathtaking photography.

Xiangshan Wetland

Day 01

Earthy Traditions & Orchard Rhythms

Kilns in the morning, mirror ponds at noon, and a basket of fruit by sunset.

01

Yingge —
Taiwan's Ceramics
Capital

We begin at the Yingge Ceramics Museum, a stunning glass-and-steel landmark housing over 3,500 works of art. After exploring the history of Taiwan's kilns, we wander into Yingge Old Street. This pedestrian paradise is home to hundreds of boutiques and studios where you can find everything from delicate tea sets to modern ceramic sculptures.

02

Reflection at
Yuemei Wetlands

Escape the crowds at Yuemei Wetland Park. Walk along winding boardwalks through six interconnected ponds, where the water acts as a perfect mirror for the Bald Cypress trees. It's a peaceful ecological oasis right on the edge of the Daxi old town area.

03

Seasonal Fruit Picking
in Daxi

We end the day at the Yamei Leisure Agricultural Area. Depending on the time of year, you can experience the joy of harvesting your own fruit: Dragon fruit in summer, Pomelos in autumn, or Citrus in winter. Taste the "farm-to-table" freshness and enjoy the sunset over the emerald green fields.

Day 02

Glass Art & The Heart of the Coast

From a 1936 imperial guesthouse to a heart-shaped path in the mudflats.

04

Hsinchu —
The City of Glass

Start your morning at the Hsinchu Glass Gallery. Housed in a 1936 European-style guesthouse originally built for the Japanese Imperial family, the museum showcases Hsinchu's century-old glass-blowing industry. The architecture alone, with its historic charm, is worth the visit.

05

The Heart-Shaped Path

Xiangshan Wetlands

Walk the famous Xiangshan Wetland Crab-Watching Path. This 250-meter curving boardwalk is designed in a beautiful heart shape, allowing you to get up close to fiddler crabs and mudskippers without disturbing their habitat. As the sun begins to set, the wind turbines and the wet sands create a poetic, golden landscape.

06

Faith & Flavors —
Hsinchu City God
Temple

Our final stop is the Hsinchu City God Temple, the highest-ranking temple of its kind in Taiwan. Built in 1748, it is a masterpiece of religious architecture. Just outside the gates lies the Temple Night Market, which has been operating since the late 1800s. It's the best place to try Hsinchu's famous Pork Balls and Rice Noodles before we head back to Taipei.

Pro-Tips for Your Visit

Travel Smart

Photography at Xiangshan

The "Crab-Watching Path" is highly dependent on the tides. Your guide will track the tide schedule to ensure you have the best chance to see the diverse mudflat creatures and capture the perfect sunset reflection.

The Night Market Feast

The Hsinchu City God Temple market is unique because it is "built into" the temple structure. Look for the stalls selling "Ba-wan" (Meat discs) and the legendary Hsinchu Rice Noodles — they are a local rite of passage!
