Countryside Nostalgia & Hidden Tribes | a 2-Day Adventure in Northern Taiwan

Pastoral & Hidden Gems · 2-Day Journey

From Marble Soda Magic and Hakka Alleys to
the Sacred Traditions of the Saisiyat

Escape the urban hustle and rediscover the joy of simplicity. Our "Pastoral & Hidden Gems" tour is a 2-day journey that blends childhood nostalgia with deep cultural exploration. Whether you're crafting your own fizzy drinks, wandering through a floating forest, or learning the ancient rhythms of the Saisiyat people, this tour offers a rare glimpse into the rural soul of Taiwan.

Why This Tour is a Must-Do

Made for those who want
to do, not just see.

This itinerary is perfect for those who want to "do" rather than just "see." It features three unique DIY experiences — Marble Soda, Saisiyat Crafts, and Dairy Farm treats — combined with the breathtaking seasonal beauty of the Sanwan Bald Cypress forest.

Sanwan Bald Cypress

Day 01

Hakka Heritage & Retro Fun

A Baroque alley, a floating forest, and a bottle of childhood.

01

Hukou Old Street —
A Baroque Time
Capsule

We begin at Hukou Old Street, a 300-meter stretch of "Eastern Baroque" architecture. Admire the stunning red-brick facades and visit the historic Sanyuan Temple. Be sure to try authentic Hakka delicacies like handmade taro puree and fresh soy milk — many shops here still use traditional stone-grinding methods.

02

Sanwan Bald Cypress —
The Floating Forest
(Seasonal)

Next, we head to the hidden Sanwan Bald Cypress park. Hundreds of trees are planted directly into the emerald waters, creating a surreal "floating forest." From November to January, the leaves transform from vibrant green to fiery red, reflecting off the lake like a living oil painting.

03

Marble Soda DIY —
A Fizzy Blast from the
Past

Experience the magic of Marble Soda (Ramune) at the Dapune Factory. Learn the physics behind how a simple glass marble seals the carbonation, then mix and bottle your own soda. It's a nostalgic trip for adults and a bubbly delight for kids!

Day 02

Tribal Traditions & Ranch Life

Hip bells in the morning, alpacas after lunch.

04

Ga Ga O'an —
Secrets of the
Saisiyat Tribe

Start your morning immersed in the culture of the Saisiyat, one of Taiwan's most mysterious indigenous groups. At the Ga Ga O'an Cultural Park, tribal members will guide you through interactive workshops on bamboo weaving or making "hip bells" (butt bells). You'll learn about the sacred Pasta'ay (Ritual of the Short People) through immersive displays and traditional dance.

05

Pushin Ranch —
Pastoral Play & Fresh
Dairy

Get ready for farm-style fun at Pushin Ranch! Watch cowboy-style sheep shows, witness a piglet race, and hop on the "Cow Train" across the rolling pastures. You'll have the chance to feed friendly alpacas and learn how to make fresh ice cream or butter using the ranch's premium milk.

06

The Fusion of
Craft & Flavor

By the end of the day, you will have created your own Saisiyat handicraft and mastered the art of dairy DIY. It's the perfect end to a journey that celebrates the handmade spirit of Taiwan.
