Why This Tour is a Must-Do

A 3D perspective
of Taipei.

Maokong offers a unique "3D perspective" of Taipei. This 3.5-hour guided tour transitions from the valley to the peaks via the Maokong Gondola. You'll explore the spiritual grounds of Zhinan Temple and visit local tea houses where the Tieguanyin tea variety has been perfected over generations. It's a sensory journey of misty mountains, fragrant brews, and stunning vistas.

Journey Highlights

What You'll See

A gondola, a tea ceremony, and a temple in the clouds.

01

The Maokong
Gondola Experience

Our adventure begins with a 4km aerial journey. As the gondola climbs, you'll witness a dramatic contrast between the dense mountain forests and the sprawling urban landscape of Taipei. If we are lucky, we might catch a "Crystal Cabin" with a glass floor for a true bird's-eye view of the tea gardens below.

02

Tea Trails &
Deep Brewing
Traditions

Upon reaching Maokong Station, we enter the heart of tea country. We'll stroll along the Tea Garden Pathways, passing terraced fields and the Tea Promotion Center. The highlight is a stop at a local tea house (such as Shangyang Tea House), where you'll participate in a Traditional Tea Ceremony. Learn how to rinse, steep, and appreciate the complex notes of Taiwanese high-mountain tea.

03

Zhinan Temple —
Where Faith Meets the
Sky

On our descent, we visit Zhinan Temple, a magnificent complex fused into the mountainside. This landmark is dedicated to the Eight Immortals and offers one of the most serene viewpoints in the city. The blend of intricate Taoist architecture and the mountain backdrop makes for unforgettable photography.
