Explore Baroque Architecture, Riverside Views, and 100 Years of Master Craftsmanship

Step into a town where every shophouse tells a story. Our "Daxi Old Town Charm" tour takes you to the historic riverside port of Daxi. Famous for its intricate Baroque facades and world-class woodworking, this 8-hour journey offers a perfect blend of culinary exploration, scenic photography, and hands-on artisan workshops.

Why This Tour is a Must-Do

Daxi is a sensory delight. You will walk across the majestic Daxi Bridge, taste the town's famous dried tofu (Dougan), and dive deep into the local "Living Museum" of wood arts. The highlight? A hands-on experience at a traditional wood studio where you’ll learn how Daxi’s unique identity was carved into history.

Journey Highlights: What You’ll See

The Daxi Bridge & Waterfront

Our journey begins at the 330-meter-long Daxi Bridge. With its ornate Baroque design, it looks like a scene from a classic movie. We’ll take the scenic elevator up to Zhongzheng Park, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Dahan River and the town’s rooftops—the perfect spot for your first panoramic photo of the day.

a Foodie’s Walk on Daxi Old Street

Daxi’s "Old Street" is a masterpiece of early 20th-century trade. Under the elegant red-brick corridors, we will embark on a food pilgrimage. You can't leave without trying "Lao A Bo" Braised Tofu—savory, aromatic, and a local legend. Follow it up with a bowl of silky-smooth "Lai Mama" Tofu Pudding (Douhua) for the perfect sweet finish.

The Soul of Wood: Wood Art Ecomuseum

Daxi is Taiwan’s heart of fine woodworking. We will explore the Daxi Wood Art Ecomuseum, a series of restored historic buildings that tell the story of the town's master carpenters. Later, at Sanhe Wood Art Studio, you’ll get hands-on experience, carving your own wooden tofu mold and understanding the discipline behind this century-old craft.

Daxi "Dougan" Souvenirs

Daxi is the undisputed capital of dried tofu. There are dozens of varieties, from spicy to honey-glazed. Ask your guide for a recommendation on which "vacuum-packed" versions are best to take home as gifts!

Architecture Photography

The "Gables" (the decorative tops of the buildings) on Daxi Old Street are some of the most intricate in Taiwan. Look closely to find carvings of fish (symbolizing abundance) and bats (symbolizing good luck).
