Will my international apps (Google, WhatsApp, Instagram) work?.
Many international apps are restricted in China. To keep you connected, we provide each participant with an eSIM with an integrated VPN (included in the tour price). You can use Google, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Gmail seamlessly throughout your stay in Chengdu.
Do I need a visa to visit China in 2026?
China has expanded its visa-free entry policies significantly in 2026. Many nationalities now enjoy visa-free entry for up to 15 or 30 days. Additionally, Chengdu offers a 144-hour visa-free transit. We recommend checking your specific eligibility; we can provide invitation letters if you require a standard tourist visa.
Will we be able to interact with the pandas?
The visit to the Panda Research Center allows you to observe giant pandas in naturalistic habitats. To prioritize the animals’ health and welfare, direct physical interaction is not permitted. You’ll have the chance to watch them eat, play, and rest from designated viewing areas while our guides explain their conservation.
How do I pay for things? Are credit cards accepted?
Chengdu is a leader in mobile payments. While major hotels accept international credit cards, local tea houses and markets usually require Alipay or WeChat Pay. We strongly recommend linking your international card to Alipay before you arrive. Our guides will help you with any payment questions on the ground.
Can I join this tour if I don't speak Chinese?
Absolutely. This tour is designed for international travelers. Your Local English-Speaking Guide will handle all translations, from ordering the best Sichuan dishes to navigating local sites, ensuring a smooth and immersive experience.
What is the "Premium Dual-Lead Support" service?
This is our signature service model. Each group is supported by two dedicated experts: a Taiwanese Tour Leader to manage all logistics (hotels, transport, payments) and a Local Chengdu Guide to provide deep cultural and historical insights.
Is China safe to travel to?
Chengdu is one of the safest cities in the world for tourists. Crime is extremely low, and the locals are famously laid-back and welcoming. Our dual-lead support team ensures you are looked after 24/7 throughout the tour.
What kind of weather should I prepare for?
Chengdu and Chongqing have a humid climate. Summers are hot and humid, while winters can be cold and damp. Since we visit mountain areas, we recommend layered clothing, comfortable walking shoes, a light raincoat, and sun protection.
What level of physical activity is required?
This tour involves a moderate level of activity. Expect walking on uneven surfaces, stairs, and slopes—especially in the hilly districts of Chongqing or at the panda base. If you have mobility concerns, please let us know in advance.
Are there luggage restrictions on the high-speed train?
Yes. Each passenger is allowed 20kg of luggage, with total dimensions not exceeding 130cm. If you have oversized bags, we offer a paid luggage transfer service to ensure you can board the train comfortably.
Can special dietary requirements be accommodated? (Sichuan Spice)
Yes! While Sichuan is famous for its spice, we can accommodate vegetarian, halal, and allergy-related requests. Please inform us in advance so we can ensure you enjoy a variety of delicious, safe meals tailored to your taste.
How can I pay for the tour?
We accept international bank transfers and PayPal. Once you are ready to book, our office will provide detailed payment instructions and secure links.
What type of electrical outlets are used?
China uses 220V electricity with plug types A, C, and I. We recommend bringing a universal travel adapter to keep your phone and camera charged for all those panda photos!
What if my flight arrives late?
We provide a recommended arrival window for smooth transfers. If your flight is delayed within that window, we’ll be there. For major delays, alternative transport may need to be arranged (additional costs may apply).
What happens in case of extreme weather?
Safety is our priority. If heavy rain or safety warnings occur, we may reschedule outdoor activities or replace them with high-quality indoor attractions like local museums or cultural shows.
Can I book a single room?
Yes. Single occupancy can be arranged for an additional fee, subject to hotel availability. We recommend confirming your request as early as possible.
Are there any free time opportunities?
Yes. We include free time in the evenings and on arrival/departure days. Whether you want to explore the "Wide and Narrow Alleys" or relax at a traditional tea house, your guide can provide excellent local recommendations.
